Buena sits on the western edge of Atlantic County, where the lots run larger, and the fence lines run longer than they do closer to the shore. Tri-State Fence & Deck installs vinyl, aluminum, and wood fencing across the area, along with Trex composite decks, and we handle the Buena Borough zoning paperwork so you do not have to. We have built thousands of fences across South Jersey over 20-plus years, and we know how a fence has to be set to hold straight through an inland winter.

On the larger, semi-rural lots around Buena, the fence you pick depends on how much of the property you want to close in and what you want to see past it. Here is where each option fits.

Transform your property with premium vinyl fencing, designed for strength and low maintenance, vinyl fences provide lasting style and dependable performance.
White vinyl is what most homeowners in the area put up, and it is our core product. It never needs painting or staining; it does not rot, and a run this long stays clean with an occasional hose-down. See our vinyl fence options, including full privacy, semi-privacy, and lattice-top.

Enhance your property’s appeal and protection with a durable, rust-resistant aluminum fencing. Its elegant, open design works well in residential and commercial settings.
If you want a defined property line without a solid wall, powder-coated aluminum fence installation keeps the view open. It works well around pools and across the open front yards common on Buena lots.

Every fence needs a way through it. We build swing and rolling gates, plus automated openers for driveways. Gate installation is matched to the fence so hardware and latching line up.

Prefer the natural warmth of wood? We specialize in custom wood fence installations, built from quality cedar or pine for long-term beauty and value.
We install cedar and pressure-treated wood fencing when you want a natural look. Plan on resealing every few years to hold off graying and moisture.

For a practical, cost-effective option, chain link fences deliver reliable security and versatility for homes, schools, and businesses.

Ideal for large or agricultural properties, ranch-style fences—including split rail and board rail—combine strength, function, and a timeless rural look.
For the farmland and acreage properties out this way, split rail and ranch fencing marks a boundary over a long run without walling anything off.

Every deck we build is Trex composite. No wood. A Trex composite deck does not splinter, rot, or require refinishing, which matters during Atlantic County's freeze-thaw cycles. As a deck builder in Buena, we like the larger lots here because they leave room for a real outdoor space. Ask about deck installation, patio covers, and outdoor kitchens.

Built for Local Conditions
Fence performance changes by region—what works in Georgia doesn’t always last in South Jersey. Our designs are engineered around South Jersey’s coastal humidity, clay-heavy soil, and freeze-thaw cycles.

Buena is inland farm country, not the shore, and that changes how a fence has to be set.
New Jersey's frost line runs to 36 inches, the depth the 2021 NJ Residential Code uses for footings. When the ground freezes and lifts, a post set shallower than that gets shoved upward, and one heaved post pulls a whole run out of line by spring. We set posts in concrete below that frost depth so the fence stays straight.
The larger parcels around Buena mean long, exposed fence lines that catch wind. As your fence contractor, we space and anchor posts for that load rather than stretching the gaps to save on materials, because a shortcut there is what leaves you re-plumbing panels later. Your soil and drainage grade factor into how we set them.
New Jersey law requires marking underground utilities before digging. We place the NJ One Call request, which requires at least 3 business days and remains valid for 45. PSE&G marks gas and electric lines for free within that window. You do not make the call. We do.
Most homeowners are surprised how specific Buena's fence rules get, and getting them wrong means taking the fence back down. Here is what actually applies before you build.
Your zoning application must show the property with existing structures and any current fence, and indicate where the new fence will go, including distances to the property lines. We prepare that submission and file it for you. Questions on your lot go to the Buena Construction Code office at 616 Central Avenue in Minotola, open Monday through Friday, 9 to 4, or (856) 697-9393.
If your lot is a corner lot, ask us about sight-line clearance before we set the layout.
Start your free estimate, we walk the property and handle the Atlantic County paperwork.

Every Tri-State Fence & Deck project follows the standards required by South Jersey township and county codes—from post depth and frost line clearance to concrete set times and gate spacing.
Our crews follow a structured checklist developed over 20 years of regional experience to ensure your fence or deck passes inspection and stands the test of time.
What defines our craftsmanship:
Posts set to South Jersey frost depth (typically 30"–36" minimum, depending on township)
Concrete mixed and cured per ASTM fence-post standards.
Vinyl and aluminum rails reinforced with steel or aluminum inserts where required.
Deck framing built with weather-rated fasteners and NJ-approved joist spacing
Site cleanup and gate alignment were verified before the customer walkthrough.

Yes. We work across Atlantic County, including Egg Harbor Township, Vineland, and Mullica Hill.
It depends on the size of the job, the material, and the borough permit timeline. We provide you with a written schedule in the estimate so there are no surprises.
Yes, and every deck we build is Trex composite. It withstands freeze-thaw cycles without rotting or needing refinishing, which is why we do not build in wood.
Below the 36-inch frost line. New Jersey's residential code sets footing depth at 36 inches, and we set posts in concrete below that so they do not heave when the ground freezes and thaws.
Up to 6 feet from the building line back, and 3 feet from the property line to the building line. Any front-yard fence over 30 inches has to be open on the vertical faces above that point, and in-ground pool enclosures need a minimum of 4 feet. All of this is set in the borough code.
Yes. Buena Borough requires a zoning application and a $30 fee before any fence goes up, per Chapter 150 of the borough code. We prepare and file the application as part of the job, so you do not have to deal with the paperwork.
